Space is tight at Hamburg S-Bahn when the train cars need servicing. However, they have found a solution where efficiency and ergonomics go hand in hand.
Efficient Installation in tight spaces
In the future, defective train doors and windows at S-Bahn Hamburg will be replaced with the help of a vacuum lifter from Smartlift. The lifter ensures an efficient and safe work process, so employees no longer have to manually lift the heavy doors into place on the train cars.
The vacuum lifter, the latest generation SL 409 HLE RT, takes over alle the heavy lifting tasks in the train workshop.
In the workshop, space is limited, and the work on the train set is done a few meters off the ground. This not only complicates the workflow but also creates poor working positions, and the use of traditional lifting systems is not possible as they are too large.
That is why they are pleased with their vacuum lifter at S-Bahn Hamburg, as it eliminates all the heavy and cumbersome work, and the lifter is easy to maneuver around the workshop.
