Teknologisk Institut
Founded in 1906, Teknologisk Institut (Danish accredited testing laboratory) is dedicated to improving technologies and production methods through research, consultancy, development, and accredited testing. With facilities spread across the country and approximately 1,100 employees, the institute conducts various tests, including heat pump testing, which requires advanced measuring equipment and sensors to ensure accurate results.
Heavy and Unmanageable
The Heat Pump Laboratory boasts some of the world's most advanced testing facilities, making it essential to find a gentle and precise transport solution for the heat pumps. Heat pumps are delivered on pallets and must then be moved to a special test room, creating logistical challenges.
Access to this room involves a height difference and a doorway too narrow for a standard forklift, and the floor in the room cannot withstand heavy traffic.
Previously, the process required 3-4 employees to manually move and handle the pallets with heat pumps. This task was both physically demanding and required the coordination of necessary personnel, often leading to an inefficient work process.
Easy and Flexible
To address these logistical and labor challenges, Teknologisk Institut approached Smartlift, which suggested a demonstration of the Smartlift SLI 409. The multi lifter proved to be perfect for the task, with its ability to safely pick up pallets, maneuver in tight areas, and gently place the load precisely where needed.
With a capacity to lift up to 950 lb and reach a height of 109 in, as well as remote control for precise handling, the Smartlift SLI 409 was an optimal solution.
With the Smartlift SLI 409, Teknologisk Institut has drastically reduced the physical strain on employees and the time required to move and place heat pumps. This has not only increased efficiency but also improved the working environment.
